San Francisco Portraits

I wanted to share these few photographs, of some people I met walking the streets of San Francisco. Moses Mckenzie and I taped a few yards of seamless white paper on some vacant walls and roped the good people in for a quick snap of the shutter. After a few run-ins with some security we finally found a suitable spot for the stage and quickly went to work.
Note:
There are two ways of going about this, (or so Ive found.)
1. Find a good wall with alot of foot traffic, prop up the paper, and go to town.
2. Find a good wall with alot of foot trafic, scope the scene for security; ideally, go inside and speak to the building manager on site; keep your fingers crossed.. Hopefully you gain approval and then go shoot away.
Some things to look for, are vacant buildings, fenced areas, photography supply stores, and store owners with friendly faces.
So we were lucky enough to have a couple hours for actual shooting before the sun went down. I worked with my Pentax K20D with a 50mm lens, set at ISO 400 F5.6 @ 1/60s, while Moses was shooting with his Canon 7D with a 70-210 L lens, set at ISO 6400 F2.8 @ 1/125s.
My noisy K20 was really struggling with the higher ISO later in the shoot and Auto Focus was fading with the sunlight. The 7D was holding up great and even gave us great results at a higher ISO as the night went on.
Here are a few shots from the bunch.

Thanksgiving "Jam"

Happy Thanksgiving everyone! Eat lots today and walk it off tomorrow while youre shopping; or stuck in a traffic jam. You know its a traffic "jam" because youre supposed to use the time rockin out to your favorite music while ur waiting.. and not gettin road raged because two people cut in front of you at the same time. Be safe folks and have a great holliday.

Ive been having trouble importing this blog site of mine into the facebook "notes" section. I just want the facebook to post the new blog posts when I write em. Trying the RSS feed app Graffitti so this is the first shot at it. Crossing fingers.
